Is Medical Marijuana legal in Illinois?Yes, medical marijuana has been legal in Illinois since January 1, 2014. If you qualify for the medical conditions specified by the State of Illinois, EarthMed can provide you with medical cannabis. Please see: How to get Medical Marijuana in Illinois.
How do I get my Illinois medical marijuana card?There are several steps you need to take. Please see Get Your Medical Marijuana Card to get started. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to qualify, but adult caregivers of minors may also apply on the child’s behalf.
Can medical patients grow cannabis at home?Yes, only medical marijuana patients with medical marijuana cards may cultivate cannabis. There is a 5 plant limit in the state of Illinois. Recreational marijuana users are not permitted to grow their own cannabis in the state of Illinois.
What are the marijuana possession limits in the state of Illinois?Medical patients who use medical cannabis for treatment are able to buy 2.5 ounces of cannabis every 14 days through their registered dispensary. According to the Illinois Adult Use Cannabis Summary, if medical patients choose to grow their own medical cannabis, under certain conditions they are allowed to possess more than 30 grams of medical marijuana. For recreational weed users in Illinois, the cannabis possession limit is as follows: 30 grams of cannabis flower, 5 grams of cannabis concentrate, and 500 milligrams or less of THC in a cannabis-infused product.
Can I travel outside of Illinois with my medical cannabis?No. Traveling outside of the state of Illinois with medical cannabis is illegal and punishable by law. If you purchased medical cannabis in Illinois, you must consume the marijuana in the state of Illinois.
I am from out-of-state with a state-issued ID, can I still come in and purchase recreational marijuana or medical cannabis?Yes, visitors, 21 or older, may purchase the out-of-state recreational limit for consumption while in the state of Illinois. They are able to buy: 15 grams of cannabis flower, up to 2.5 grams of cannabis concentrate, and 250 milligrams or less of THC cannabis-infused products.
If I live in another state, can I purchase marijuana in Illinois and then bring it home with me?No, you may not travel with marijuana. This is against the federal law.
Is it legal to drive after medicating with cannabis?No. Consuming cannabis and operating a motor vehicle is illegal under all circumstances. Marijuana consumption can not only make you drowsy, but also may impair your judgement and slow your response time.
Can I share my recreational or medical marijuana?In the state of Illinois, sharing recreational weed or medical cannabis is allowed if the person is 21 or older. You may not accept payment of any kind for the gift of marijuana.
Can I consume medical marijuana publicly?No. Smoking medical cannabis is prohibited anywhere smoking tobacco is via the Smoke-Free Illinois Act. Also, it is not recommended to be publicly intoxicated on medical marijuana.

Where is EarthMed located?We currently have 2 Chicagoland locations. The first sells both medical cannabis and recreational marijuana and is located at 852 Westgate Dr., Addison, IL 60101, easily accessible within the Western Suburbs of Chicago. The second location only sells recreational marijuana and is located at 10441 East Touhy Ave., Rosemont, IL 60018 just down the block from the Allstate Arena and a few miles from O’Hare International Airport.
What are EarthMed’s hours of operation?Addison: Mon-Sat: 10am-9pm and Sun: 10am-6pm Rosemont: Monday-Saturday: 10am-9pm and Sunday: 10am-6pm
Is Recreational Marijuana legal in Illinois?Yes. You can buy recreational weed at both our Addison and Rosemont locations. Recreational marijuana has been legal in Illinois since January 1, 2020.
Where can I buy marijuana for recreational or medical use?Our Rosemont, IL location sells recreational marijuana ONLY. Medical patients can purchase medical cannabis for treatment at our Addison location which serves both medical patients and recreational marijuana users.
Does EarthMed offer online ordering for medical cannabis and recreational marijuana?Yes, both medical cannabis and recreational cannabis can be ordered online for Addison.
If you have a recreational marijuana product listed at the Rosemont location, do you have it at the Addison location as well?No, we have two different menus of recreational marijuana, one for Addison and one for Rosemont. The Addison location also has a medical cannabis menu.
Do you offer any discounts?Yes. For medical patients, we offer 10% off for those who are over the age of 65, military veterans, patients on permanent disability, and children who have epilepsy.  For recreational customers we offer 10% off for customers over the age of 65 and military veterans with proof provided. If you qualify for one of these, please select let your budtender know when you check out.
What is required for me to come in and purchase medical marijuana or recreational marijuana?The state of Illinois requires you to provide age verification in order to enter either of our facilities. Acceptable forms of identification include: any State ID, Driver's License, or government-issued passport.  Masks are no longer required inside for vaccinated customers and patients.
Do you accept debit or credit cards?No, we are CASH only, but we have multiple ATMs onsite for your convenience. When you order online, you will be able to confirm your pickup reservation, and then pay in cash when you arrive.
Do I have to have a medical card to come in and purchase medical cannabis?No, if you are not an Illinois medical card holder and are over the age of 21, you may come in and purchase recreational marijuana with your state-issued ID, Driver's License, or government-issued passport.
Does EarthMed sell marijuana seeds?No, we do not sell cannabis seeds. Please see our products page to see the types of medical cannabis and recreational marijuana we provide for our customers.
Do you issue cannabis medical cards?No, but we can assist you in finding a place to obtain one.
Do I need an appointment to come in and purchase medical cannabis or recreational marijuana, or can I walk-in?No appointment is needed. We accept walk-ins during our business hours.
Do you offer returns or exchanges for defective products?If you have a defective product, please come in with your receipt, product, and the original packaging. A manager will then determine if the product is defective. Once the item has been determined to be defective, you will receive a store credit for the amount of the item's purchase price.
Does EarthMed deliver medical cannabis or recreational marijuana?No, it is against Illinois state law for dispensaries to deliver either recreational weed or medical cannabis.
How should I select my medical cannabis?This is where our EarthMed team can help you. Our medical cannabis experts listen to your needs and address them on a patient by patient basis. We are extremely knowledgeable and help guide you through this process every step of the way. Since this process is vastly different for each patient, typically a patient will start by deciding whether they are looking for a Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid strain. The effects produced by each strain of medical cannabis will differ depending upon the cannabinoid and terpene profiles. This is something that the professionals at EarthMed are happy to assist you with.
