How to Make Weed Gummies

Posted by Canna Randa on Apr 16, 2024

Making your own edibles is a fun way to combine cannabis products with your love for cooking or baking. Most people will immediately jump to pot brownies when they decide to make edibles, but cannabis-infused gummies are also quite tasty and are easier to make than you might expect. By following these steps, you’ll be able to create your own delicious, cannabis-infused treats in less than an hour.

Ingredients to Make Weed Gummies

While gathering your materials, be mindful of whether you would rather make THC gummies or CBD gummies. Each provides a slightly different experience, with THC producing more of a psychoactive effect. Nevertheless, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Cannabis tincture or oil: The potency of your gummies will depend on the strength of your tincture or cannabis oil, so choose according to your desired dosage.
  • Unflavoured gelatin or gelatin powder: You can use gelatin for non-vegan gummies or agar-agar for a vegan alternative.
  • Flavored Jello: Pick your favorite flavor of Jello (or any powdered gelatin dessert) to give your gummies a tasty kick.
  • Water: Use warm water to dissolve the gelatin.
  • Gummy molds: Choose any fun shapes and sizes that you can find.
  • Funnel, dropper, or pipette: For filling the gummy molds with the mixture.
  • Pot and whisk: For mixing and heating your ingredients.

Steps to Make Weed Gummies

Now that you’ve gathered your materials, here is how to make cannabis gummies:

  • Step 1 - Mixing & Heating

In a pot, mix together the water, Jello powder, and gelatin. Once mixed, put the pot on the stove and turn on the heat to medium-low. Stir continuously until everything is completely dissolved. Avoid letting the mixture boil to preserve the effectiveness of your tincture. Once thoroughly mixed, let it sit for a few minutes. This process helps to ensure a smooth texture in your final product.

  • Step 2 - Add Your Cannabis Tincture

Remove the pot from the heat. Wait a few minutes for the mixture to cool down slightly, then add your cannabis tincture. The amount you add depends on the desired potency of your gummies. Stir well to ensure that the tincture is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

  • Step 3 - Pour Into Molds

Using a funnel, dropper, or pipette, use a steady hand to carefully fill your gummy molds with the mixture. Be sure to fill each mold completely for a uniform dosage.

  • Step 4 - Cool the Gummies

Place the molds in the refrigerator for at least an hour to allow the gummies to set. If you're in a hurry, you can also put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

  • Step 5 - Demold and Enjoy

Once your gummies have fully set, gently remove them from the molds. They're now ready to eat! Store your cannabis-infused gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh and potent.

Whether you're a seasoned cannabis enthusiast or a curious newcomer, making your own gummies at home can be a fun and rewarding experience. Enjoy the process, and treat yourself to a tasty (and discreet) way to consume cannabis.
