What Are the Different Types of Vape Carts?
Vape carts come in all different shapes, colors, and sizes, and feature all kinds of concentrates, but what exactly should consumers look out for while on the hunt?
Here is a quick guide to some of the most important distinctions between vape carts.
What Is a Vape Cart?
“Vape cart” is a shorthand way of referring to vape cartridges, which are tiny, cylindrical containers that hold some sort of liquid or concentrate for vaping. Vape carts are commonly used in electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, and vape pens. A vape cartridge typically consists of a chamber for the liquid substance and a mouthpiece for inhaling the vapor. Vape cartridges come in various types, flavors, and sizes, each catering to a different experience.
CBD Vape Cartridges & THC Vape Cartridges
One of the most important distinguishing features of a vape cart is what’s inside. Most vape pens can use both THC and CBD vape carts, which will offer completely different experiences. We’ve gone into great detail about the differences between CBD and THC, and the effects for vapes are mostly similar.
CBD vape carts are not psychoactive, meaning they won't produce a "high" sensation. Instead, they’re used for their therapeutic effects without the mind-altering effects associated with THC. Consider using a CBD vape cartridge if you need help managing anxiety, pain, or inflammation.
THC vape cartridges cause the same psychoactive effects as if you were smoking cannabis. For a recreational vaping experience, most turn to THC variants. Just keep in mind that the legality of vaping THC depends on your location.
510 Vape Cartridges & Custom Vape Cartridges
One of the most common terms you’ll see when shopping for vape cartridges is “510 cartridges” or “510 vapes.” This isn’t another slang term like 420 and 710, but instead is a measurement of the threading at the bottom of a vape cart. The 510 threading is the most common threading used for the connection between the cartridge and the battery. Users will find that there’s widespread compatibility with a 510 cartridge, as many vape pens and batteries are designed to accommodate them. This allows vape enthusiasts to shop for a variety of concentrates across different brands without having to buy a new battery for each of them.
On the other hand, you’ll occasionally find vape pens and batteries that only work with a specific design of vape cartridge. These custom vape cartridges are usually less common at dispensaries, but be on the lookout. Buying a vape cartridge that doesn’t fit your battery will render it useless.
Refillable Vape Cartridges & Disposable Vape Cartridges
A majority of the vape cartridges that you’ll find at a dispensary or a vape shop will likely be disposable. These one-time-use cartridges are pre-filled with e-liquid and can be quickly attached to most brands of batteries. All you’ll need to do is pop on a new cartridge, and you’re ready to roll! Plus, users won't have to deal with the refilling process associated with refillable cartridges.
A refillable vape cartridge is a type of cartridge designed for multiple uses. As its name suggests, with a refillable cart, users will be able to refill it with their preferred oils and concentrate whenever they run out. Refillable cartridges require regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance, and the initial cost might be slightly higher, but refillable cartridges can save money in the long run.
There are hundreds of types of vape cartridges that are available across the US for you to experiment with. Plus, you can choose from dozens of different vape cartridges in Illinois when you shop at EarthMed in Addison and EarthMed in Rosemont.
